  • Freelance / AC 800F
  • Six DCI system
  • MOD 300
  • Safeguard
  • Connect PLC (connected to any OPC server yet)

2.2.2. Using standards

System 800xA using hardware, operating systems and protocol standards. This allows not only collect data from systems that ABB from many different sources, such as from the control systems of other manufacturers (Siemens, AB, …).

2.3. Aspect Object concept

A central issue in the operation of the plant, as well as life cycle management of assets, is the need to organize, manage and access information for all the different aspects of a large number of physical plant and processes.

Aspect Object architecture is the foundation of the Industrial IT concept. It provides:

  • A consistent concept, extending, integrating products Process Control & Automation, Automation stations and product safety (Safety).
  • Navigate focus on information – a consistent way to access immediately all the information without having to know how and applications where information is processed.

2.3.1. Aspect and Object

The objects in the real world objects can be physical process, such as a valve, or more complex, such as a reactor. The Other examples are: products, materials, processes, batch, production orders and customer accounts.

  • Called Aspect Object (modeled as Object )

Each object in the real world can be described from many angles. Each angle determining part information and a set of functions to create, access and manipulate this information. Examples: graphic, alarm, trend, report, define the line, mechanical layout, etc.

  • Called Aspect of the object ( Aspect )

Should be able to implement this aspect in many different applications, both existing and new, from ABB, third parties and customers. It is desirable to be able to do this without changing the application. It is not reasonable to require that all the various applications must know about each other. However, applications must be coordinated to provide a single view and integrated functions of the object. Example: Graphic Images Builder to create a graphical interface, Auto CAD for layout design of mechanical installations, SAP to process orders, etc.

  • These applications are known as Aspect Systems , perform one or several types of Aspect.

2.3.2. Intuitive navigation

Use the right mouse button (right click) to access detailed menus to view information about the object.

ABB to expand the scope of automation by integrating information from a variety of applications ABB automation systems and other business systems into the 800xA system on common screens. This single window provides users a broader view on the basis of increasing the ability to access all necessary data from which to make informed decisions.

2.3.3. Aspect integrated platform

Aspect’s integrated platform software package integrates all product support through the Industrial IT Aspect Object of us, regardless of where they may reside in the network.

You only need to enter data once for use across the system and information in real time on each subject easily accessed with just one “click” the mouse.

2.3.4. Aspect Framework (AFW)

Two key concepts are central architecture Aspect Object : the concept of Aspect Object and concept of AFW Services.

Based on this concept, a framework (framework) is determined, with the rules and regulations on how to add functionality to the class server (Server) and workstation (Workplace) and how to connect functions classroom control with server class. This framework is called the Aspect Framework (AFW) .

2.4. Structural system (System Topology)

800xA system functionality is divided into a core system (core system) and a set of options. These options represent the functions that can be added to the system based on the needs of the process need to be controlled.

Server running software that provides system functionality, run the Workplace software provides interactive forms of different users.

The server functionality is implemented on the nodes ( node ). A node is a computer can specify network address (PC). For small applications, one would design a PC can provide all the functionality of the server, as well as for clients.

Configuration and server selection is the key factor for system performance.

2.4.1. Domain Server

The small system can operate without the need for installing additional domain controllers. In this case, all nodes (node = the computer (PC)) and the user will be managed by Windows Workgroup. Configuring security for the user and must be made on all computers (nodes) separately in Workgroup.

The user in Windows Domain management is performed from a central server called the Domain Server. Each domain must have at least one server domain (Domain Server), to be able to recover a domain, you need to have multiple domain servers in the domain (the domain to set up an running Standby – Additional Domain).

2.4.2. Aspect Server

Aspect Server is the brain of the system, storing the management information of the object.

There is only one system for each network Aspect automation, can rely on a single server or run backup running with a normal maximum of 3 Aspect Server configuration using two out of three (2oo3).

Examples of services are:

  • Aspect Directory
  • Set File Distribution (FSD)
  • Structure and Name Server (SNS)

2.4.3. Connectivity Server

Connectivity Server provides access to controllers and other data sources across the network. Some groups Connectivity Server can exist in a system, each serving a data source.

Examples of services are:

  • OPC Data Access (OPC Data Access)
  • OPC Alarms and Events (OPC Alarm and Event)
  • Access historical data OPC (OPC Historical Data Access)
  • System message (System message)

2.4.4. Application Server

Types of applications running different systems, such as:

  • Batch management (Batch Management)
  • Optimizing assets (Asset Optimization)

2.5. Network architecture of System 800xA

Communication system based on Ethernet Industrial IIT and TCP / IP.

For smaller systems and for systems not designed separation network, Network Client / Server (Client / Server network) and Network Control (Control Network) can be combined in a joint called network automation.

System 800xA uses licensing mechanism center (central licensing). A specified computer, usually the domain controller, will license server center (CLS) system.

2.5.1. Plant Network

Plant Network can be dedicated to the purpose of the automation process or a part of the plant’s internal network was available.

Plant Network Connect to the Internet or any other network types outside must comply with network security practices sufficient to ensure safety.

2.5.2. Client / Server Network

Network Client / Server is used for communications between servers and between servers and Workplace.

Through the router (router), client / server networks can be connected to the plant’s internal network and connect to the Internet through a firewall (firewall). For reasons of efficiency and integrity, avoid connecting the system directly to foreign control network and client / server networks. Network Client / Server can be designed to operate backup (optional) to improve fault tolerance and maintain the continuous operation of the system.

For large systems need to set up a Domain Controller (Domain Server) to manage all the computers in the network, this machine will inform the user log in, resolve IP addresses, computer name in the system network (DNS). All machines in the network must be configured to become a member of the Domain Controller.

2.5.3. Control Network

Control Network is a local area network (LAN) is optimized for high performance and reliable communication, the response time can predict in real time. It is used to connect the controller to the host. Controller (Controller, PLC) is the software that controls the play button.

Connectivity Server controller and is connected to the network controller. Network control options can be made redundant.

Fieldbus is used to connect field devices, such as modular I / O, sensors and actuators intelligent controller speed, PLC or device small loop and to connect devices this was the system, via the controller or directly to the server.

2.5.4. Single Node System

Single Node System for very small applications, in which all the functions of the server and desktop are located in a PC 800xA.

Only one button system PC, including all server and client applications are installed. Only a few controllers can be connected and small applications.

2.5.5. Redundancy

System 800xA provides the highest level of fault tolerance to meet the application needs of the most demanding maximum uptime of the system. Optional redundant setup for I / O, controllers, network controllers, network Fieldbus, Connectivity Server, Aspect Server and Operator Workplace with automatic switching provides the integrity functions necessary to meet demand The most demanding.

2.5.6. Remote (Thin) Client

Remote Client allows remote access to the system 800xA from standard PC without the need to install software for ABB. Only Internet Explorer is necessary to access the data.

Remote Client provides the ability to operate and access historical information. Configuration capabilities are limited in remote mode.

Function remote server control is done by Windows Terminal Services in Application Server. Optional services may be provided by Citrix server as in the example above.

2.6. Configuration Wizard (configuration wizard)

Configuration wizard is a central location to:

  • Create / Delete System 800xA
  • Start / Stop System 800xA
  • Add extensions to the system
  • User management system 800xA
